If someone brought a friend to our camp to shoot and they came with Punisher shit on their guns or gear, or god-for-fucking bid, Spartan shit, I wouldn’t take my eyes off them for a second. Something about it screams, “My gun is an accessory, not a weapon.”
That and the idiots that slap those gun decals with something like ‘we believe in the 2A’ or some dumb shit on their trucks. Which is basically just slapping a ‘free guns—break glass’ sticker on their vehicle.
I understand what you mean about lionizing anti-heroes. I just think that analysis is more sophisticated than the thing it’s analyzing. These displays are veiled threats of violence. Nothing more. Pretty funny too, seeing a tough guy try to scare you by flashing the symbol of his favorite comic book character.

100% it’s only his favorite comic character but has never touched a comic, and maybe only watched clips from the shows. His only exposure is seeing gross misinterpretations by dickless right-wing chuds
Ok wow, the Daniel Day Lewis Gangs of New York poster is a whole new level of cringe whoosh, in the same vein as the punisher worship.
You know there’s a framed Tyler Durden quote hung up in there somewhere, too
Among serious gun nuts, the Punisher thing is scoffed at. It’s a sign the person displaying that bullshit is borderline childish.
Indeed. There’s a big fucking difference between “firearms as an interest/hobby” and “firearms as an identity.”
As someone who claims the former, but not the latter, people of the latter usually piss me off.

Glad I’m not the only one who noticed

That’s been bro culture since the movie came out
