So, who else did rewatch Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World recently?

This rational animation channel seems to focus pretty non-stop on AI-risk crank talking points. Can’t tell by skimming if they’re engaging critically, but it seems unlikely.
And now you’re apparently inspired to make a cutsiefied rendering of a slop machine running prompts, which is likened to a child being encouraged to explore.
I don’t wanna shit on the art or anything, but it seems like the general AI psyop is getting to you a little.
Just realized this is also how I feel about Element.
I work with GitLab a lot. I think it’s better for organizations than using GitHub, but my SW Engineer Spidey sense gives me death spiral vibes.
They’ve swallowed the AI Kool-Aid and are redesigning the UI to push their Chatbot on you (disabled by my org fortunately, but I still see it). They are feature creeping the fuck out of their already bloated product and are engineering features specifically to keep lots of usefull stuff behind the paid tiers, which are getting more expensive.
It’s fine for institutional use if you have sane admins, but long-term I 100% bet on Forgejo.
Hang on while I look up the sed command to edit your shirt off…
I grip your shirt (choose keyboard layout) and start lifting it over your head (selecting partition scheme), but you pull back, suddenly unsure…
“B-but this isn’t one of those cringe distros, is it?”

Ah fuck, is this a !nosafetysmokingfirst or a !dontdeadopeninside?
Edit: Ok, it’s defs a !dontdeadopeninside
I checked out https://rotatingsandwiches.com/ from her @, and damn, that page did deliver.
If you could get a ukranian drone unit to spray paint “TRANS RIGHTS” with the trans colors on a Flamingo FP-5 before they send it to blow up a refinery, that would make a good post.
This gives me strong Belter drinking bulb vibes.
Oh, I just got a lovely nah-uh in my inbox: https://lemmy.blahaj.zone/comment/21448556
But please let’s be discreet and not upset the critters further.
You can be an anarchist and poke fun at naive interpretations of anarchism. I don’t think you have to read “all anarchists are like these hypothetical human pets” into that joke.
equates it with anarcho primitivism
Hey, it specifies solarpunk. The fellas have at least solar panels in there. And they know how to use pharamaceuticals.
I’ll grant that gathering medication in the bushes is a little on the nose.
It’s paternalistic, all right, but that’s something different. I have a toddler, I should know.
Disagree, I think there’s something there.
Something about baby anarchists who get the spiritual lessons but stubbornly refuse to engage with the complexity of the world and try to naively derive practices straight from theory which end up laughably ineffective. In contrast, once it truly sinks in how fucked and complicated the world is and how powerless your faction is your political practice starts looking more “normal” ™️, but you harbor no ill will against the enthusiastic baby anarchists and sort of envy their lifestyle.
Might be wrong, can’t read OPs mind. But somehow it doesn’t feel mean-spirited.

Wow, no upvotes. None of you did, then? Shame, it really holds up well. And you will get my previous comment.
