You think I’d still have perfect SAT scores if instead of reading 500 books in high school I spent my time playing World of Warcraft? Get a grip.

Terrance Tao is smarter than I am but he is not better in some absolute sense, so you don’t need to deny that he’s smarter on my behalf. Instead, here are some unquantifiable things that do make people meaningfully “better:” kindness, passion, empathy, courage, honesty, wisdom.
Honesty bids me to acknowledge that Tao is smart, and wisdom that it doesn’t matter (re, the meaning of life). Lastly, standardized tests don’t measure EQ because it’s hard to quantify and irrelevant for college placement.
Americans are so fucking weird about IQ. Yes, some brains function better than others. Whoop-de-doo. Case in point, Trump and cows and shit.

It’s well known that 30% of people are insane. I don’t mean we disagree, I mean they’re psychopathic monsters. Basically polar bears who can drive and use the internet.

0·21 days agoThe results don’t mean anything because they asked the participants to apply their own understanding to the terms. What the fuck does that do?
It literally tells us their own perception of the terms. The information you’re demanding is different, and there’s an obvious and interesting discrepancy between the favorability of certain policies versus the language used to describe them.
The purpose of polls is not to educate people. It’s to figure out what they think in their dumb misinformed animal minds.

0·21 days agoThese are different questions. We can survey people about specific policies (which happen to be socialistic) and those rates will be much much higher. But that’s not what we are currently asking.

To be fair, the GMO thing is funny and dumb.
