As a foreigner, what does this metaphor mean? It sounds to me like “And at the end of the day… is night” kind of things, but what does it replace?
It means there is no future in centrism. The living armadillos choose a side. Those that dither will be hit by cars. On United States roads, yellow lines signify lane divisions between cars traveling in opposite directions.
That’s exactly what needs to be done. For starters.
The current MAGA Republicans make neoconservatives look like angels. The neoconservatives are lesser evil, but it doesn’t exonerate them from the Bush-era warcrimes.

By dictionary definition, that’s all neoliberal. Most Democrats AND Republicans from the past 50-70 years are neoliberal, and even Trumpism is steeped in neoliberalism.
At it’s core, it is a trust that the “invisible hand” of the free market will keep the ship of society afloat. As though the body commence is some kind of organically-organized supercomputer that seeks to optimize for global prosperity. It looks to unchain the capitalist machine in the same way AI bros seek to unchain their gpt waifu so we can all singularity.
To this end, when looking for a neoliberal, you’re looking for someone who wants to privatize public services then deregulate and cut taxes for businesses. So despite it having “liberal” in the name, it is a thought movement led by conservatives. Like, Ronald Reagan is one of its staunchest champions.
Is Obama care neoliberal?
Yes. Affordable Care Act funnels tax dollars to the insurance companies by giving subsidies to individuals to buy health plans.
For sure. It is a market-centric solution that gave billions of dollars in additional profit to existing health insurance corporations.
Especially since the public option was killed.
Even though neo Liberal is about hands off government. Obama Care directed private companies on how they were to behave. How can that be neo Liberal?
They’re only hands off when it comes to things like social safety nets. Obamacare was basically corporate welfare.

Sometimes, I feel regret that Romney didn’t beat Obama. Not because Romney would have been a better president. Just because of the timing, if Romney had won, then maybe Trump would never have become president, or at least he’d have been president later. Romney’s still a Republican, so it would have sucked, but Trump is fucking poison.
Because much of what’s happening right now is a direct, racist reaction to the US having the gall to elect a black man president.
Its also a reaction to the Hope and Change candidate bailing out the banks who just stole millions of homes, bombed a dozen countries, sending the natl guard to shut down protests in furgison, both-sides a cop arresting a man in his own yard, deporting more people than W or Trump, giving us means-tested subsidies for health insurance.
Obama disillusioned a generation with politics, hence why so many people stayed home in 2016. Biden did the same shit, and Newsom will do it again if given a chance.
Don’t forget the part when Obama created a joint federal/local/corporate-bank task force to illegally surveil the Occupy Wall Street protests, and the brutally crush them. Or decided not to prosecute the authors of the torture program in the Bush administration.
