Which specific bill are you talking about that served their rich friends, and screwed over the working class? Because this is fucking news to me.

This isn’t a specific bill, but the US government has been an oligarchy for quite some time now. This is why leftists keep complaining about corporate campaign contributions and FPTP while most elected Democrats are mysteriously fine with them.

Link 1 explicitly lays out why it’s not a handout to the rich.

Link 2 is about legislation in 2008. Who do you think was president in 2008? Because it was Bush. The same guy who caused the 2008 recession.

Link 3 is about how Congress undid covid relief when Republicans took back control in 2023.

Link 4 seems to basically just be an ad with no substance, mostly talking about how Bush fucked shit up and Obama didn’t do enough to unfuck Bush’s fuck ups?

Oh, well, just because they said it isn’t a bailout must mean that it isn’t a bailout. There’s no way politicians would lie.

For links 2-4, I posted the wrong ones. I’ve added corrections, my apologies

Your defense of the first link is a lazy copout. Don’t cite a source and then say “don’t believe my source” lmao.

The bailout money has been paid back, plus interest. It is largely considered a plan that worked. Your complaints are a great example of letting perfect be the enemy of good.

Your politico link points out what I said; Biden wanted to do x for the people; Republicans in Congress stopped him.

Your Atlantic link is paywalled. But I think I’ve read enough to justify disregarding anything else you have to say since it doesn’t seem like you’re reading your own shit, thereby not respecting my time in any meaningful way.

Democrats are absolutely worth criticizing, and it’s not just our right, but our duty to do so. But let’s not pretend that they are the party of fucking over the working class to help their rich friends. That is squarely on the Republican party. All they have done in my lifetime is block help for the working class, roll back help for the working class (which were passed by Democrats), and pass tax breaks for corporations and the wealthy. Oh yeah, and dissolve our rights and speedrun into fascism. How could I forget that one. So if you want to talk about a party fucking the people over, let’s talk about them.

I didn’t say that. I gave you a source of them giving handouts to their rich friends.

The bailout money has been paid back, plus interest. It is largely considered a plan that worked. Your complaints are a great example of letting perfect be the enemy of good.

That doesn’t detract from what I said at all. I said they got handouts, which they did.

Your politico link points out what I said; Biden wanted to do x for the people; Republicans in Congress stopped him.

Republicans AND Democrats. And he could have fast-tracked money to keep them going, just like he did for the war-machine . He chose to sit back, and let them lapse.

Your Atlantic link is paywalled. But I think I’ve read enough to justify disregarding anything else you have to say since it doesn’t seem like you’re reading your own shit, thereby not respecting my time in any meaningful way.

Says the person wasting my time. If you aren’t going to read what I wrote, why ask questions?

I talk about the Republicans doing that all the time. But Democrats are indeed fucking over the working class to help their rich friends, as evidenced above. Of course, if you don’t read things that you find inconvenient, it’s probably difficult for you to understand that.

Dude, no. Just no. You don’t seem to know what words mean, and you’re getting frustrated by that.

Biden didn’t “give handouts to his rich friends” when he bailed out a collapsing bank to save the financial security of the everyday people who banked there. He prevented a cascade of bank runs. You would understand that if the read the article. But you’re free to disagree with the actions he took; what would you have done differently?

It’s not a “handout” if it’s a loan that gets paid back plus significant interest. A “bailout” yeah, sure, but that’s not the same thing. That was my point there. And again, what would you have done differently? Let the economy collapse to spite those who made it happen?

You say he could’ve fast-tracked money, but when he tried he was stopped by the courts. I know you want it to have been possible, but he wasn’t willing to be a dictator. He (perhaps naively) believed in preserving the separation of powers.

As for wasting time, I’m not the one who linked 7 goddamn articles and then didn’t bother to understand them before pretending that they supported my argument.

It’s like there’s a kid dying in the OR and you’re focused on a worrisome mole while I’m saying “hey fuckface, let’s worry about that melanoma after we deal with the gunshot wound.” Yeah, there are corrupt Democrats and they cling to power, and yeah we should do something about that, but demonizing the entire party over a couple of less than perfect incidents is a mind-blowing way to take up space during a fascist takeover by the other party, led by a rapist conman who is in the news every day for egregiously fucking over everyday people to help his rich buddies. He’s turning the white house into a gilded palace. He’s ordering all Latinx to get raided by ICE. He fucked over the farmers AGAIN to enrich his VP. He’s accepted a luxury private jet from Qatar. He very obviously raped children with his bff for years. Thanks to these dumb fucks, I now need to get a prescription to get a covid vaccine in my state, and I’m calling it now, there will be a shitload of measles and covid outbreaks in the next two years.

It is fucking silly to criticize how Obama and Biden handled those crises as fucking over the working class to help their rich buddies when the actual policies they worked for and the bills they signed did the opposite, and Republicans undid as much of it as they could. Capitalism fucking sucks, and it’s doomed to result in massive wealth inequality, and I’d love to shift away from it, but that’s just not happening without a lot of violence. The Democrats are compromising to ensure that everybody gets crumbs today and morsels tomorrow and small bites the next day, and it’s damn sure not enough, but it beats intentionally starving everybody and punishing them for not fattening up enough ahead of their slaughter.
