The current fascist administration is DESPERATE to find and paint a segment of a population to not only blame this on, but also to round up and punish that segment.
I don’t think we should be cowering in fear of the administration and their cronies, but we can’t do any good if we’re all locked up, deported to Narnia or being burnt at the stake.
Especially bad considering that this is massively likely to be a right-wing veteran if he’s ever caught.
I wouldn’t say they are desperate. They already just make up shit. A true reason is better than a fake one one but so far “crime” has been good enough to slow walk things.
