In the EU, as an immigrant you are able to get social security, medical care and other assistances if you are an inhabitant.
When you are an asylum seeker you get a special amount of money for your apartment and pocket money.
Some people in european countries hate that, and feel like these people dont deserve that.
But I dont see any of this stuff beeing given to US folks, so why do they want immigrants out?
And yes, the massive fuckup with all those West European countries letting in asylum seekers is very unpopular with the population (see backpedaling in Denmark).

I know, that asylum seekers are not immigrants. My point was, that as an immigrant you can get the same social security as everybody else, which the least thing in my opinion.
