This is a real “AI” ad from the US government about the end of the mandatory use of the auto start-stop.

This is from the official Whitehouse Instagram.

Only things I can see that gives it away that the video is generated is the red car’s brake lights being on while accelerating. The obvious stereotypes of bule haired lesbians vs the blonde.

Also they have no insignias on the cars but that’s definitely a Prius and idk what the red car is, the red car might not exist in real life.

Spoting generated videos is going to get harder. However if it’s obvious propaganda from the state then you should be suspicious.

It’s impressive for generated video even though it is stupid as fuck. I won’t get too in the weeds about why this is stupid as the point of the post is more about the use of AI in state sponsored propaganda.

Just to get it out of the way, here is why this is a stupid policy:

I hate auto stop. It always freaks me out and I dislike how the AC stops working when I stop at a light. So, I did something about it and got an EV. Bonus points, my EV does 0-60 in 2.6 seconds which is far faster than any sportscar I’ve ever been on, including Ferraris.

I did also the first time I used startstop, but that was more than a decade ago. Even back then it eventually came back on for the ac - just allowed a larger than normal temperature change. I’m sure they’ve gotten better but even back then you do more or less get used to it. Eventually. Combining that with series hybrid or plugin hybrid should make it really shine.

Sounds like a fun car. I’ll keep that in mind if I ever come across that model. I already had the BMW iX M60, Audi RS e-tron GT and various Tesla Performance models on my list of cars that could beat me.

To be honest, I would love to see more fast electric cars here on the German Autobahn. Then I wouldn’t have to hold back so often when driving behind “slow” combustion engines that think they can’t be overtaken at 100 mph. Especially if they have more than 400 hp.
