The Ellison duo taking over both CBS and CNN, as well as controlling a major social media network like TikTok, would be dangerous for democracy.

We’ll still hear the conservatives bleating about this so-called “liberal media” I’ve been hearing so much about.

Has any of this been confirmed on the chinese side? All I can find is White House claims that a “deal is close”…

More people need to talk about this, especially ON the platform itself.

It’s not downplaying anything, media has always been a tool of the state to defend its actions.

Red Note banned a lot of people for wrongspeak during that exodus. Westerners are used to speaking their minds online for better or worse.

Speaking of banning, saying the “CPC” is awfully authoritarian and all that shit would normally be a permabanning offense in .ml, but I’m willing to bet that the admins will let it slide because you’re disingenuously pushing Chinese influence on the libshit gweilo.

Would be possible the community to find some de-centralized service for videos. Or hosting videos is still too costly?

They can’t enact or enforce laws here.

The has been Chinese Nationals working for the CCP harassing the overseas Chinese Diaspora. As a Chinese American, I dont wanna become a target for harassment because they view me as a “汉奸” (“han traitor”).
