Or he saw the message, thought about the response, forgot it, checked again and realized he hadn’t sent a reply.

Or he’s away from the phone for whatever reason, which happens when you start to break free from its chains.

If you’re texting it’s because you don’t need/desire an immediate response. Judging someone by how long it take them to respond to a text is a red flag. If you’re going to be needy that’s fine but at least make it clear.

Or the mans is working and can’t be on the phone all day, or his mom called, or literally a million other excuses. If you want instant and consistent responses, call them.

After you text to make sure they’re down to talk. Gotta have some consideration for them.

Yea thats fair. I’m an on call worker and also an emergency contact for customers so I’m actually relieved if its just a friend calling me randomly instead of the boss or a customer. Now that I’ve thought about it, whenever i wanna discuss plans or details with a friend i usually send them a text asking them to call me when they can.

Calling just because text response is slow is a Red Flag.

You best have something urgent to say

I meant more so if you want to hold a consistent conversation with someone, not just because it was a slow response. Also there are many people who prefer to call. If i call a friend and they dont pick up, they’ll just hit me back later, just the same as if they didn’t have time to respond to my text in the moment.

I hate calling on the phone. If you want to have a real time conversation with me, meet me in person. We’ll have a beer, or go out for lunch, or watch a movie, or go for a walk.

If you live too far away (or you don’t know me), you’re stuck with text. The only exception is my mom, who lives on the other side of the continent from me. I put up with phone calls to talk to her.

Or he’s nervous and kept rewriting the message for 25 minutes. Could literally be anything. And 25 minutes is not a long time.

i’ve been told that i don’t care about people if i take more than a few minutes to reply.

then i tell them i don’t touch my phone for hours a day, and they tell me i’m a cruel awful person with no feelings.

      weird.
