Hot take: eating a capybara is about as morally reprehensible as eating pasture-raised chicken.
I’m flexitarian and I eat meat. I just don’t want to be a hypocrite about it.
yeah, i hear guinea pig is actually pretty good. where i live they are pets, not livestock (although this damn economy)
Went backpacking in Peru as a young adult, cuy is kinda between pork and chicken.
My friend was there in the spring. Several people from her tour group tried it. Don’t recall if she did because my brain is mush.
Capybara are cuter and more closely related to us than chickens are
It’s more like eating a pasture-raised cow
I’m a flexterian, to
Which way to the vet, because these pythons are SIIICK
ᕙ( : ˘ ∧ ˘ : )ᕗ
It’s really more: “I just ate yesterday I can save this guy for tomorrow.”
Catholics: That looks like a fish to us!
You ever wonder if some people are born alligators while others are born capybaras?
Also, how do capybaras deal with the anxiety of potentially being eaten by alligators?
They don’t have to deal with that anxiety. They’re incredibly stupid. Also, they do get eaten by alligators, this one wasn’t hungry.
please God, don’t let me forget this quote:
They don’t have to deal with that anxiety. They’re incredibly stupid.
If they are anything like guinea pigs they’ll possess negative survival instincts.
“Is that a big cat trying to eat me, I’ll just run over to say hello.”
Well how the hell DO they survive then, and why haven’t they gone extinct?
Like a lot of other rodents they just breed like crazy. That plus being very adaptable to human environments means they’re doing fine for themselves.
I don’t know…ever seen a video of them running when one raises an alarm? Fuckers go from chill to gone in a blink!
They don’t think about it, they just chill
Mayhap they possess not the stench of rotted flesh?
