Others have said it but if you find AI is fucking something up buy pre 2021 books about it. We must return to the old ways now that model collapse has begun

Much of Robert Munsch’s work is available online for free. His website has recordings of him reading his books to enthusiastic audiences.

The nice thing is that any thrift or second hand store has TONS of children’s books, all for the amount of change you could scrounge up from a couch.

Also it’s better to read a physical book than anything on a device if you’re about to go to sleep, the blue light is bad for your sleep.

While libraries are good, they are not always open, convenient, or have what you are looking for. Project Gutenberg - fairy tales

Check out some physical books then. Surely any public library worth their salt has a physical book catalog you can look through.

Go buy a cheap $20 bookcase at $bigboxstore find the nearest thrift store and buy $20 worth of picture books. Read one every time the child is being out to bed and you’ll figure out which ones go back and which ones become favorites pretty quick. It’s one of the best things one can do for their kids (and once they’re in school teachers can immediately tell what kids have parents who read to them and what kids don’t)

Every website ive found for bedtime stories has been bullshit. Ads loading in the middle popping the screen around, popup ads that take you to another page completely whether you like it or not, asking you about cookies again like 4 times.

Just fuck off, modern Internet. Fuck right off.

I bought one of those “365 bedtime stories” books. They’re pretty nice for bedtime stories. Just the right size, simple and short, and you never have to look for a bedtime story again.
