these services are relatively new and the majority of people in these suburbs got along fine without exploiting that labor before.

There are edge cases that this may benefit (meals on wheels type situations) but I’d argue it’s still borderline immoral to use them.

I prefer my grandma to use them over driving herself. This stuff arrived over the pandemic but its niche is permanent, not everyone using it is doing it out of laziness.

I didn’t say everyone was doing it out of laziness.

I said the majority got along fine before.

I said some portions of the pop’n benefit from it now.

It’s still exploitative and I believe borderline immoral. The gig economy is bad for the overall economy.

Most grocery places now do their delivery/curbside themselves so you don’t have to patronize a third party app.

I am legitimately imagining this person pitching a fit because he got invited to a party and they want to order pizza. Or rather, I imagine them pretending like that’s what they did later in the shower, because nobody actually acts like this in real life.

Otherwise you’d have to imagine me as a normal person arguing that the service you use is a net negative on society, I guess. Just chilling here petting my dog and posting PRs at work while bsing on the Internet.

“Oh man, it won’t fix capitalism? Guess I better keep my mouth shut then unless I can fix the entire thing.”

        See how silly that sounds?

“Oh boy I can strawman someone’s argument online? Guess I better do it at every chance!”

          See how silly that sounds?

To the actual point, you’d be much better off spending your time on the root issues instead of attacking a very small minority of the problem. That’s my only point, food/grocery delivery is so low on the list of capitalism exploitation shit.

Took you 3 attempts to get that response out, eh?

The actual point is that I can comment on any issue I want, and dismissing that comment because it doesn’t solve what you believe to be an overarching problem is silly.

You don’t need to start from the top or the bottom. You can address any issue you want regardless of its perceived priority.

Trying to silence someone from doing so is silly.

It was the same response, just had a network issue.

Don’t care to continue this discussion honestly, keep demonizing gig workers and the people who use them all you want, just saying it’s not actually going to help.

                keep demonizing gig workers

Not demonizing the workers. Demonizing the tech bros and customers exploiting them.
