My strategy is never drinking coffeine (decaf coffee all day) and then, when I go to lans, I drink a White Monster per day. Keeps me awake till 5-6 am.

I don’t think I pulled my first all-nighter until my mid-twenties. I still do it maybe twice a year, but honestly my sleep schedule these days is bad enough that it’s probably carcinogenic.

30 was basically a brick wall. In my 20s I pulled an all nighter at least twice a month no problem. Now I become a complete zombie by 10am

If I’m really locked in on something I can get to like 2am. It’s rare that anything does that for me anymore though. Too many other worries distracting me.

I’m practically nocturnal, so staying up til sunrise is no problem, in fact getting to sleep before sunrise is the tricky part. It’s the after sunrise part when I hit the wall.

My “all dayers” is when I sleep from 12am to 4pm. You mean I have to be awake for that time??

I was pulling all-nighters well into my 40’s, but I had insomnia. It wasn’t something I wanted to do. However, I did take advantage of it for work.

I found the solution to my insomnia and never looked back. Now I fall asleep almost like a normal person.

YMMV, but it worked for me from day one. I read about it on a post on the content aggregator site which shall not be named.

I opened the link right there at work, started playing it, and thought , “t This guy is so boring I feel myself falling asleep already!”

The first night I listened, I was asleep before the intro was done, but then when the episode ended, I woke up. The next night I loaded all the episodes, but then when my alarm went off the next morning, I kept snoozing the alarm and falling asleep again. Finally, I started it with a sleep timer to stop it playing a few minutes before my alarm would go off.

I think that was about 10 years ago.

Occasionally, when life is really, really bad, I still have nights where I have trouble getting to sleep, but that’s a once or twice a year thing now. I used to get less than 4 hours of sleep every night, with about 1 night per week where I would get no sleep at all.

        It isn’t for everyone.

granola is perfectly healthy dude. no idea what you are on about. it knocks me out because my stomach is full instead of empty.

maybe you have it confused with granola bars, which are basically candy.

Still something to consider. Apparently people think granola isn’t loaded with sugar and becomes healthy when not pressed into bar form. But please, if you’re living closer to the condition than I, go off king and or queen

Most of the time when someone brags about 4-day weeks they still work 40+ hours and I don’t envy them much

That’s true, I only work 32 hours though. And it’s not bragging, I’ve had burnout before and can’t work more than that for long periods of time, my body cannot handle it anymore.

I didn’t sleep last night but it wasn’t my choice. I just didn’t get tired until about a half hour before I had to be up. Needless to say, today fucking sucked.

Yeah, all-nighters are easy. It’s more the ~24 hrs+ cliff that comes out of nowhere that’s rough. Then there’s the battle to power on for another 14-15 hrs through the waves of highs and lows, because I’d rather that than sleep during the day and blow up the sleeping pattern.

Pulling all-nighters for gaming shows very little experience with pulling all-nighters.
