You try to see a specialist, but your insurance sucks and doesn’t cover being alive.
Oh well. You pay to get that CT Scan and it turns out you have cancer.
Sounds expensive. Your insurance calls that a “preexisting condition” and drops you. You can’t buy insurance.

We all get it. Healthcare in the US is still a clusterfuck and we need a nationalized system, but writing off ACA is childish bullshit. There’s a reason the vampires in the GOP tried to repeal it over 60 times over the course of 10 years. If the GOP is against it, that’s usually a good sign that it’s good, even if it’s not great.
