I have noticed for the 5th day in a row the news cycle has been stuck on the lies Maxwell said. They are actively rewriting the narrative and here in a few months the conservatives will believe nothing actually ever happened.

But Lee said Saturday that just three percent of the 33,295 pages of documents turned over to Congress contained new information, according to Oversight Committee Democrats’ initial review.

Maxwell, who is currently serving a 20-year prison sentence, told Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche that she did not know of any wrongdoing by Trump in connection with Epstein, according to the transcripts, which also show that she praised the president.

I’m starting to suspect that Maxwell may have a different definition of wrongdoing than I do.

If she were to share how she actually violated thousands of children it would not benefit her. So she continues to lie and help cover up the crimes. Now this administration is rewarding her for this.

I continue to fail to understand how the full documents are simultaneously too devastating for Trump to release them but not devastating enough for Biden to have released them.

The documents were sealed for most of his term by court order. However that ended on Jan 1st of his final year, so there were 20 days he could have.

I think there was supposedly some time based seal…

but I’d imagine also it’s just simply biden’s also covering clinton or other democratic donors. The fact that we weren’t screaming at the top of our lungs to release them in biden’s term, was more likely us stupidly falling into security that “norms are back and the wheels of justice turn slowly but always get there”, and then watching trump waltz in and imidiately purge the DOJ, FBI etc… and replace everyone with loyalists, and the realization that the courts are half overtaken, half worthless as republicans dropped the illusion that their rulings had any kind of force behind them.

Good lord… apparently it is extremely hard to purge Trump’s name from the actual files.

I realize this isn’t a court case, but during discovery in a court case, there’s this weird tactic that lawyers sometimes use. You see, they have to provide the opposing counsel with all of the relevant documents, but they also know that the information in the documents can only be used if the opposing counsel can actually find the information.

So, they will send every document that even might have a shred of relevance, and “accidentally” include a lot more, in order to overload the opposing side with so much documentation that they’d have to hire a team of people to go through it.

I suspect that the Justice Department is doing this for multiple reasons. First, and most boringly, it may simply be that they are required by law to send the documents, even if they believe that Congress already has them.

Second, they may be working on Trump’s behalf to slow down the process, and pretend to comply. In all of Trump’s trials, one of his primary tactics was to delay as much as possible. Trump has learned that justice delayed is justice denied, but with the wrong slant.

Third, they may be working on Trump’s behalf to bury the evidence in a mountain of unimportant information in the hopes that the interesting parts will be harder to find, similar to overloading the opposition during discovery in a court case.

Fourth, they may be working on Trump’s behalf to send all of this data, as a political spin maneuver. They can say, “Of course most of this data is a repeat. We haven’t been holding out that much. We don’t have very much evidence at all.”
