Republicans hate “BiG gOvErNmEnT” so much they are completely letting all these giant corporations price gouge and report record profits while workers are struggling. Regulation is bad and scary! Them and their rich donors will still be fine when gas, egg, and bread prices skyrocket…

Yep. Companies have said that they like the tariffs and inflation because they can raise prices and consumers can’t tell if it’s the greed or inflation that raised those prices.

They are not against big government. They are quite pro big government, but only in a militaristic way. If it benefits a single person they are against it.

Yeah, they definitely want a “big” government to invade other countries with oil or go after their political enemies, but Republicans absolutely pretend they are against Big Government.

That’s actually a great reframing. We are all indeed experiencing the cost of greed crisis. If you read about the circular financing in the AI debt bubble, it’s driving the costs up for everything indirectly.

When trying to decide which business to burn down at the next riot, can we see more banks targeted? Landlords would be good too.

Operational costs and the cost of doing business is not the same as the cost of living. The cost of greed is the cost of doing business and companies are absolutely screwing all of us over.

The cost of living is the cost of being gouched to survive.

Not the same thing at all.

I don’t think you understand. These poor companies are only doing what they must to provide excellent products and services to the masses. If you cannot afford them, simply stop being poor.

Such as Micron’s 89% margin on stuff they sell to businesses which create consumer products, up from somewhere around 30%

Yeah that’s why companies keep getting a bigger piece of the pie. See also. And, you know, there’s all the price gouging and fixing. That aside, “basic economic factors” include corporate greed, since mainstream economic theory assumes that individuals are acting to maximize their own profits with perfect information and complete disregard for anyone but themselves. This describes most people badly, but it’s a decent fit for greedy assholes with access to resources. Think what this means for your average company.

Also the explanations convenient ignorance of global inflation versus how the US Fed reaction actually outperformed most other countries.

If they could think they wouldn’t be posting slop from the chamber of commerce as if it would persuade anyone who’s got a third braincell rolling around in their head.
