Capitalism is simply a system where the ownership of capital is primarily by an investor class using limited liability corporations in a market system.

Given insufficient restraints, the investor class will act in their own interests - that is to say, calcifying their control over capital through the use of clientism and legal force, just as pre-capitalist aristocracies did, up to and including detachment from the market. Capitalist elites do not care about capitalism. Capitalism is the ladder (however unfair and cruel that ladder is, mind you) that they pull up behind them once they achieve success.

Elites always want to become an aristocracy, and given enough time and power, they will become an aristocracy in a society that refuses to confront them, and dismantle capitalism - again, itself not exactly a humane system - to implement an even more oppressive apparatus in its place.

Unfortunately, dismantling capitalism is easier than dismantling an aristocracy. If they succeed, the task of left-wing anticapitalists becomes harder rather than easier.

  • One of his close advisors was gay. He wasn’t anywhere near modern on the issue, but most folk were not at the time. More than that, though, LGBT issues - even just in something as small as acknowledging an advisor’s homosexuality - were highly controversial and would have detracted from the struggle on racial equality and justice. MLK Jr. was willing to fight one battle at a time (or, at least, limit the number of battles he fought at one time), and fought the battles he thought he could best push forward with his position.

This is an attitude often condemned by terminally online ‘radicals’ who dedicate their lives to making sure nothing is ever achieved.

  • Worst part is that MLK Jr. was absolutely correct in his incisive skewering of the white moderate of the time. The letter is about white folks stalling progress and doing nothing but pretending to be allies, and condemning nonviolent protest despite supposedly agreeing with the proposed ends, not the idea that anyone who could be characterized as a moderate is, instead, an enemy. Yet instead, it’s often quoted as some kind of proof that no one who isn’t a radical is worth so much as a second glance.

You will always have allies less radical than you. Unfortunately, many terminally online folk prefer to see anyone not as radical as them as an enemy, and then wonder why they’re always fucking outnumbered.

  • She also advocated participating in the initial elections of the Weimar government, something which the KPD, unfortunately, refused in favor of attempting to take power through force, which led to the murder of many KPD leaders by the protofascist Freikorps paramilitaries - including Rosa Luxemburg, despite the fact that she was opposed to the coup attempt.

For a significant left party to be silenced for several years after that violence in the early history of the Weimar Republic may have changed history - and it’s doubtful for the better.

  • All institutions act according to their interests; by reducing decision-making to a small group, you necessarily create the conditions in which that institution will make decisions according to their interests, and not the interests of the masses. This conflict between the masses and the institution results in instability, and damages any attempt at creating long-term change.

Vanguard parties are self-defeating; they presage nothing but the rule of that selfsame vanguard.

  • Is it necessary to rage like an agressive drunk psyco? I do appreciate the links to the sources, but behave like a civilized being.

If there’s one thing I’ve learned over two decades of arguing with people over matters like disinformation and genocide, it’s that gentle phrasing leads people to walk away with “Ah, a nice little political disagreement! Agree to disagree!”

Spreading disinformation is not something that is minor, and it should not be treated as such. Even if done without malice - and I don’t think you’re doing it maliciously - treating it as a ‘mere’ disagreement encourages people to continue repeating it. Treating is as a serious offense - which it is - forces either defense of the disinformation or discarding spreading it.

  • Please, be more accurate with your statements. China is committing genocide at home (which is terrible) and supplying components, which applications include i.e. war drones for Ukraine war, in other words fuelling the war.

On the other hand the west is supplying plain ready to use weapons, ammunition and war vehicle parts. Not only that, but also the crucial military intel necessary to hit the targets.

What the ever-loving fuck do you think drones are

Not only that, but also the crucial military intel necessary to hit the targets.

And you think Chinese intelligence isn’t involved in the war in Ukraine? Both espionage and cyberattacks from suspected PRC actors are on the fucking record, and it’s not like Chinese state media is going to be doing any exposes before the CPC wants to admit it.

Although one can argue the outcome will be the same, results show a much higher civilian casualty percentage of 83% in the Gaza war.

Yes, because Palestine’s military (or paramilitaries) is no longer in any state to resist.

There is a substantial difference in the battlefield between fuelling, arming and committing.

Oh goodness, it would be really terrible if China was supplying capital, arms, and personnel.
