Both bad.
Don’t limit your thinking like thinking one has to be good if the other is doing bad
Oh look, the tankies are leaking.
China is directly fuelling genocide, both at home amongst the Uyghurs, and in Ukraine by arming Russia.
Please, be more accurate with your statements. China is committing genocide at home (which is terrible) and supplying components, which applications include i.e. war drones for Ukraine war, in other words fuelling the war.
On the other hand the west is supplying plain ready to use weapons, ammunition and war vehicle parts. Not only that, but also the crucial military intel necessary to hit the targets.
Although one can argue the outcome will be the same, results show a much higher civilian casualty percentage of 83% in the Gaza war.
There is a substantial difference in the battlefield between fuelling, arming and committing.

What the ever-loving fuck do you think drones are
Not only that, but also the crucial military intel necessary to hit the targets.
And you think Chinese intelligence isn’t involved in the war in Ukraine? Both espionage and cyberattacks from suspected PRC actors are on the fucking record, and it’s not like Chinese state media is going to be doing any exposes before the CPC wants to admit it.

Yes, because Palestine’s military (or paramilitaries) is no longer in any state to resist.
There is a substantial difference in the battlefield between fuelling, arming and committing.
Oh goodness, it would be really terrible if China was supplying capital, arms, and personnel.
Is it necessary to rage like an agressive drunk psyco? I do appreciate the links to the sources, but behave like a civilized being.

If there’s one thing I’ve learned over two decades of arguing with people over matters like disinformation and genocide, it’s that gentle phrasing leads people to walk away with “Ah, a nice little political disagreement! Agree to disagree!”
Spreading disinformation is not something that is minor, and it should not be treated as such. Even if done without malice - and I don’t think you’re doing it maliciously - treating it as a ‘mere’ disagreement encourages people to continue repeating it. Treating is as a serious offense - which it is - forces either defense of the disinformation or discarding spreading it.
Well tbh, I also hate agreing to disagree. Discussion is the civilized solution to conflicts, although it provenly takes a long time to make sides understand each other.
Nobody knows about everything. As long as the discussion is backed with sources and non-repetitive arguments both sides benefit from it, even when not reaching a consensus.
Often I realize heated arguments even when both sides have really similar believes. Coming back to the meme’s topic, I’m sure you don’t see our western mainstream media as fully honest and non-biased journalism. Not that chinese or russian media is any better (far from it), but I believe autocriticism is an essential requirement for a healthy democratic society our foreign ministers brag about.
The right response is to criticize everyone, not to let China and India off the hook.
I feel like that’s why the person who made this switch “genocide” out for “war”.
The Russians want to erase Ukrainian culture and make them Russian, that’s a fucking genocide too. Not to mention China and India have been doing their own genocides against Muslims for decades now.
Agreed. The West and the media at large are definitely problematic. But not the problem themselves. No more than the people of China Russia India Etc are. It’s the wealthy ruling class, east or west that are the issue.
wrong instance, try lemmy.ml
Why? It’s the west arming genocide. Should be relevant to all of us. We are making history after all.
No, the “west” isn’t. The global bourgeoisie wealthy are. Russia and China are each arming and committing genocide. It’s not an east west thing. East/West is a divide and conquer tactic to keep you from solidarity with those that would be allies and brothers.
Did you read your own words? So, the west isn’t… but Russia and China is…? Such a colonial lecturing mindset if I may say.
So how are ordinary chinese more complicit than you? You both pay taxes which fund the wrongdoing. Furthermore, we don’t live in a control freak state with no civil rights like them. At least we can denounce what our governments do.
I hope we agree in that point. It doesn’t make arming genocide any better if it’s committed by our allies. Thanks to that today is more dangerous than even the Cold War.
I never denied the issues with countries often aligned with the western sphere of influence. Up above I specifically stated otherwise.
I brought up Russia and China specifically to point out it’s not a “west” thing. So keep the baseless tankie colonial mindset accusations to yourself.
My entire last sentence is literally about solidarity with Russian/Chinese citizens. Just not their government or ours.
It’s not only ‘an issue’, as you say. Is giving the weapons, the technology and intel to comit genocide. History will remember China for committing genocide, and the West for arming a much bloodier one.
