I don’t think this is hurting men, but I sure as shit know that lots of men hurt women, all the time. Those girls from Cornell and more recently Chicago are great examples. Just because those two cases have come up now doesn’t mean it’s not happening, it just means these two in particular got reported, which I think is great. The vast majority of cases isn’t reported.

Sure, absolutes are not realistic. I’m not saying every man is dangerous, but the point is, you can’t easily tell a dangerous man from a “good guy” (I fucking hate that term) just by looking. And I’d rather be cautious than to live the rest of my life with heavy trauma.

I’d gladly take certain death from the bear than whatever the fuck I’d get from being alone with a male stranger in the woods. And I’m a person that’s usually very comfortable with men’s company…just with lots of other people around.
