Not even justifying his death - conservatives will whine about anyone who correctly points out the fact that neither a bulletproof vest, security, nor a good guy with a gun would have saved Charlie Kirk. But he might still be alive if 1) The U.S. had sensible gun regulations, and 2) If the right hadn’t been ridiculing the very idea of empathy and celebrating every murder of their political opponents over the past 10 years.

Right-wing politics and its consequences killed Charlie Kirk.

And as the right continues to bemoan left-wing violence, it’s important to remember that political violence is very much a right-wing issue: https://youtu.be/B2MB2re24oA?t=962

Sorry about the shitty AI audio, I was trying something new hoping that it would make the whole video-making process easier and it didn’t work out at all. If you set the speed to 1.25 it’ll sound a bit more reasonable.

Some large-scale surveys suggest that about 40% - 41% of trans people have attempted suicide at least once in their life. There are studies that report even higher rates, and I’ve occasionally seen transphobes also use “43%” instead of “41%”, but the latter estimate is the most famous one.

Of course, such a high rate of suicide attempts isn’t met with any empathy or concern from conservatives, but with false claims that gender affirmation is harmful for trans people, and often outright glee as well.

If we had empathy we’d pass universal healthcare - most gun deaths are suicides, more than any other form. gunviolencearchive.org. Banning guns won’t help, those people will still want to be dead. Fewer of them may succeed, but the human misery will still be there.

And by we I mean my fellow Democrats. Republicans don’t even pretend to give a shit.

Conservatives never wanted to help anybody but themselves.

Not even in the meaning of ‘us conservatives’, but specifically ‘me’.

        Look at Trump.

Also LGBTQ people don’t choose their life.

I also want to help fascists. The best way to help them is to spread their brains out on the ground. This helps them to think better.

See? we just disagree on the methods!

No. Nobody is “owed” empathy, you garner it through your actions and circumstances, which is why I and millions of people have absolutely zero empathy for this scumbag. This is a very simple case of you reap what you sow.

Murder can never be condoned or accepted, and it must be met with the appropriate consequences. I do however understand what would lead someone to believe their only hope for a future would be to put a bullet through this guy’s neck.

It’s the Luigi situation all over. Nobody condones murder, but we empathise more with the killer than with the asshole who was fucking us over.

He absolutely encouraged and gloated about violence to his political opponents. What the fuck are you smoking? Or are you just that ignorant?

I saw a qoute where he wanted a patriot to bail out a person who attacked political opponents with a hammer, isnt that condoning political violence by proxy? I might be misinformed, im not in the us so I have more access to memes than proper news outlets

He did not want him bailed about because he supported him. And he explicitly said what he did was not right. https://x.com/JasonSCampbell/status/1587127536122732544

He wanted to bail him out because he believed he was a left-wing lunatic. He wanted people to interview and get information form him, especially during that time when many conspiracy theories were being spread.
