I mean, let’s be honest, some Democrats have supported gun control efforts. Not particularly extreme ones, but slight limits to at least reduce school shootings. They haven’t done as much as anybody would like. Before this, I don’t remember many Republicans supporting gun control, except for Reagan banning open carry of assault rifles (I believe it was assault rifles, not certain) to discriminate against the Black Panthers.
We all know that the Bill of Rights was never meant to protect black people, it worked as Madison wanted it to. Also, didn’t exist until 1791, didn’t apply to the states until McDonald v. Chicago in 2010. Slavery started in the English colonies in 1619. Hope I don’t come off as an asshole, I’m genuinely trying to be informative, I do completely agree with you.
Honestly if Democrats would drive support sensible gun legislation like exists in Massachusetts. Well let’s be real Republicans would still be outraged because they can’t read but I sure would be much happier.
20 slaughtered six year olds could not convince this country to enact gun control when the bill was introduced. The Democrats realized what kind of insanity they were up against after that and have mostly shelved the initiative, not out of dread, but out of concern for their own campaigns.

Unless you get weaselly and say things like “2A only applies to hunting rifles or muskets and anything else is fair game, so we’re still pro 2A, technically.”
Slight correction: gun control was one of the Democrats main CAMPAINING promises for a couple decades.
Their actions over those decades have shown what their priorities are. Fundraising and losing.

the second amendment has been a fail since the war of 1812
and for black people on this landmass it has been a fail at protecting them since 1600 or so.
