Fun fact: Ctrl+C (usually) does the same thing as the escape key, but requires way less hand movement
Ctrl + [ also becomes Esc on most terminal emulators
That’s why you remap your caps lock key to esc!

Except me yesterday when my vim kept hanging on insert and then printing a bunch of errors from the undotree script. I had to empty my undodir to get it to play nice again. Not sure what happened there!
