Thank you for the clarification. I didn’t know what the species was, I just kinda assumed wolf spider since it had similar markings. Wish I knew what it actually was now, honestly. Still a chill little dude.
Yes, it’s a very common thing that spiders of all sorts do. But by far the most common spiders that do that are funnel-weavers in the Agelenidae family. It’s probably one of those for you and the original commentor.
