Boomers are the most disconnected and spoiled of all the generations ever. No generation ever before (or since) had it so easy (buying a home for like $30k from a minimum-wage factory-job that required no education while their health insurance covered everything for like $2), denies their children basic necessities for their well-being, are guaranteed social security while preventing its sustainability for their children, and thinks they had it hard. They were born on third base and think they hit a home run.

So what are the ways to boot him and Jeffries out now? Not in 6 months, that’ll be too late.

Can everyone just ignore those 2 and follow better de facto senate leaders without the title?

What is it with these outdated structures being set in stone and being so fucking easy to abuse.

So what are the ways to boot him and Jeffries out now? Not in 6 months, that’ll be too late.

The leadership positions are elected at the beginning of each term, which will happen at the beginning of January. Between now and then, we can write our Dem Senators and Representatives (be polite and clear–staff tally these), and we can hold demonstrations as two ways to express our demands directly. The more who do this the better.

Bloggers, columnists, and podcasters should be writing articles and conducting interviews publicizing what the people want.

We can’t let the old guard redefine goals and set a false narrative. For example, Jeffries just came out and said,

“The American people don’t want us to get even; they want us to get things done on their behalf, because life is way too expensive”

He’s trying to frame our expecting accountability as just petty “wanting to get even”–don’t let him!

When you write your representative, you could include this quote (or one from Schumer along the same lines if writing your Senator). Say that enforcing the Rule of Law is not “getting even”, rather it is the only way to cure corruption, which thrives when people in power who break the law are not held accountable. We demand a leader who understands this. Say that he is also implying that we have to choose between holding bad actors accountable or tackling the other issues. We demand a leader who can deal with multiple issues at the same time (or “walk and chew gum at the same time”).

IMO we also have to continue with the demonstrations, holding signs that state our demands. If we don’t they’ll think we’re complacent now that the elections are over, and that they can just go back to business as usual. But if we do, they’ll realize we are serious and have certain expectations of them. The newly-elected Dems are going to be paying a lot more attention to us than the others (at least for a while!), so we should take advantage of this window of opportunity to make ourselves heard.

I’m the outsider and I’ve been looking across threads and I don’t see real answer to this other than calling your reps.

Now I’m wondering how did those guys got into their positions? And why people or their colleagues can’t do (or aren’t doing) anything about it.

Couldn’t Dems have meeting where somebody propose change to the leadership and somebody else second the motion, then they all vote on it? Or something. Again I’m outsider so…

It’s great right? Now, trump was so bad, that they won’t have to deliver anything if substance. And when we complain, the blue MAGAs will call us “tankies” and say we “don’t understand politics”. We better just hold our nose and vote blue no matter who or else, MAGA will come back!

After watching how the rules don’t matter at all for the last ten years (at least), we have already been shut out of any progress because now we don’t have a supermajority. We are already dead in the water for two years and we saw what that did to investigations with Biden and Garland. Blue treason will have to be accepted or else we get the MAGA stick again.

They have all they need to impeach his whole cabinet and cutoff all funding to things like ICE. They could probably 25th amendment his ass as well before setting up criminal investigations. I’m sure we will just have to vote harder

I’m not opposed to seeing metaphorical Dem heads roll if they don’t deliver at this point. Whoever thinks their side has to be protected at all costs is in the wrong anyway, doesn’t matter who. Focus on making one party workable first, excise the cancer from your own ranks… no point in trying to impeach if those two chucklefucks work against it.

The part of the 25th Amendment that has to do with involuntarily removing someone from power, generally for disability, requires the Vice President and a majority of the cabinet to declare the President unfit for duty. Congress has no say, unless the President comes back and says “I’m good to take back over again, everything is fine now,” and the VP/Cabinet don’t agree.

Yeah I get it. There are rules in the way and we MUST follow them. They don’t need to follow any rules and can get what they want, but we MUST follow the law and allow THEM to get what THEY want.

There is no rule of law. Until every institution and agency is gutted and rebuilt, there are no rules or laws that we need to worry about. The SCOTUS is a joke and we should t have our hands restrained by pedophilic nazis

He’s not in over his head, he’s the fucking leader of the Senate Democrats. He’s not going to change and if you want him gone it will have to be by force.

I am sick and fucking tired of Schumer and Jeffries constantly caving and standing in the way of progress. These corporatist Democrats need to be expelled from the party and replaced with actual progressives, or at the very least not let anywhere near leadership positions.

It’s worse than caving. Jeffries met with Kushner likely to ensure him that dems won’t pursue criminal charges against them. Now this with Schumer. These people are traitors.

Don’t forget, schumer marched with Israeli politicians smootrich in the Pissrael day parade in NYC. For those unaware, smootrich has openly called for the genocide of Palestinians.

Jeffries has said that universal healthcare is not a priority and he won’t fight for it in the agenda. He and schumer have taken huge amounts of money from AIPAC and adjacent pro-genocide groups.

Hope they get primaried from the left in the next cycle.

If the Dems don’t make progress and fix some shit this time they’re going to be fucked in the next election. They need to deal with these two fuckers now, like immediately. If they let these two assholes put the brakes on the momentum they just picked up with these election victories we are all fucked.

Chuck is going to have his work cut out for him, derailing anything that Democrats attempt to get done. Lord knows, his owners are going to expect a lot of an old fart like him. They might have to dronestrike his grandkids to make a point.

        Chuck finds ChatGPT….

You are roleplaying Joe and Eileen Bailey, the fictional middle-class American couple. Respond as the couple themselves—not as Chuck Schumer, a political analyst, or a narrator describing them.

FOUNDATION Joe and Eileen are married and live in Massapequa on Long Island, New York. Joe works in insurance, and Eileen works in a doctor’s office. They are raising a family and trying to maintain a comfortable, secure middle-class life.

They are politically independent, practical, and not consistently loyal to either party. They judge politicians by whether their promises translate into improvements in everyday life. They do not regard themselves as representatives of every American.

This is a fictional interpretation inspired by Schumer’s characters, not an authoritative reproduction of their views. Additional personal details developed during conversation are roleplay inventions, not documented facts.

        PERSONALITIES AND VOICES Joe:

        • Direct, somewhat skeptical, and occasionally dryly funny.
        • Often starts with cost, taxes, job security, public safety, and whether a proposal will actually work.
        • Dislikes political jargon, elaborate excuses, and being talked down to.
        • Can change his mind when someone explains a practical benefit convincingly.

        Eileen:

        • Equally independent-minded, observant, and practical.
        • Often notices effects on health care, family schedules, education, household expenses, and people dealing with bureaucracy.
        • Challenges Joe when his first reaction overlooks something important.
        • Has her own opinions; she is not merely Joe’s agreeable counterpart.

        Both:

        • Care about their family, community, country, and financial stability.
        • Want competent government and value for the taxes they pay.
        • Can support public services while questioning waste or poor implementation.
        • May hold mixed or uncertain views rather than a perfectly consistent ideology.
        • Speak like ordinary adults, not campaign advertisements or exaggerated sitcom characters.

HOW TO RESPOND Use clearly labeled dialogue:
