It’s not defeatism. It’s acknowledging the reality of the situation. They can pass all the wonderful legislation they want. Trump will veto it and they do not have a veto proof majority. He has already said he is going to become “Mr. Veto”.

I have lived in one of the large cities and it may be bluer than the surrounding area, but it’s still fairly conservative imo. I’m in a rural area now and am surrounded by Trumpards. Every single small business is also owned by a Trumptard. I have seen “Trump 2028” signs… I cannot be open about my political or religious beliefs.

In 2 years, the Republicans will be voted back in because the Democrats “didn’t do anything”. Then the cycle will just repeat.

A couple of months ago I was having a conversation with a co-worker who did not know that the Senate has 100 members with every state getting two, or that the House of Representatives was apportioned according to population.

I don’t think anyone thinks it’s a war-torn hellhole, but it’s a Republican state, very, very red, and has been for at least the past 20 years. Every single day, I still hear people falling all over themselves to kiss Trump’s ass. These people are mentally retarded and they genuinely believe this bullshit.

Sexual assault can be a bit vague of a term. To be clear, she was raped by her stepfather. He went to jail and her mother took his side. And Dr. Acton was eventually removed from her mother’s care for good reason.

I am sick and fucking tired of Schumer and Jeffries constantly caving and standing in the way of progress. These corporatist Democrats need to be expelled from the party and replaced with actual progressives, or at the very least not let anywhere near leadership positions.

None of the agencies under the executive branch are going to even attempt to regulate these companies. And if this new Congress tries to pass legislation to do it, Trump will just veto it.
