Not to mention, the death penalty should only be for the people in power, including billionaires, CEOs, etc… The government should not have the ability to kill the people. Only the other way around.
Yes, it’s opinionated, but I wouldn’t expect this subject to have a real amount of actual statistics. It’s more of a case-by-case thing. I can contribute with that I have a friend who was molested by her teacher. It’s not like she was thrilled to hear about it when the teacher had killed himself many years later. I’m pretty sure she would be opposed to the death penalty for him.
For every story that the victim wouldn’t have wanted the death of their abuser, how many are there where the victim would sleep better knowing their victim isn’t the in the world anymore? Anecdotal doesn’t mean much on its own when it comes to policy.
I agree it’s case by case. In the most severe cases, death penalty. There’s lots of gray area, like in anything else in life.
According to actual experts that’d be a great way to make sure children don’t report any relatives who abuse them
