    I want a future where non-offending pedophiles are treated with compassion by society so that they feel empowered to reach out to community and professional help.

    Sure, but I’m assuming even if someone isn’t violent, they are participating in CSAM or whatever you call it now, so they are viewing and sharing exploited children, which further encourages the producers of that content to make more. I haven’t researched the entire thing but that seems to make sense. That’s why I said they should be punished for participating. If they’re literally going through life normally without any kind of action online or in real life, then sure good for them.

    edit: saw the second part of the comment, and yeah I don’t have an answer for that, but please share your source on stats that those behaviors would happen. Whatever policy we do should be driven by empirical data, not just vibes.
