      It’s the most famous example of peer reviewed slop among biologists. Not only did someone include this in a paper submitted for publication, but it wasn’t caught by the peer review process.

      It was an illustration in a review article: “Cellular functions of spermatogonial stem cells in relation to JAK/STAT signaling pathway” published by frontiers in cell and developmental biology in 2024. Obviously it was later retracted.
