What I was saying is that the data set (people commenting on this post about their opinions on the matter) is biased by the fact that people who dislike it are much more likely to voice their opinions than those who like it, as dislike is the more socially acceptable position.
I’m not saying that your read of the data is biased. Rather, I’m saying that the data that you’re seeing is itself biased because it’s reliant on voluntary self-reporting; the fetish can be more common than you’d think and underrepresented here at the same time, because they’re not actually mutually exclusive if the sample isn’t a representative cross-section.
