Older armored core is a special kind of jank, but it’s masterable.
I had a copy of project phantasma and no memory card. I ended up developing an arena speedrun to get the wa-finger and then melt the main game in like 2 hours. I should try that again. It’s been decades but I still remember most of it.
Project phantasma was such a fun play-through. I never optimized it, I enjoyed the challenge of intended play too much to.
Well look at Mr. Fancy pants over here with his parents that understood late nineties tech! (Just kidding with ya. Maybe I’ll try a normal play through this time)
Oh I only got to play it via emulator at 25 lol, 8 years after playing AC IV. I did fall in love with the bunny-hopping tech of the OG games, though. Simple yet high-octane and somewhat nuanced. Plus the story within it was a great build off of the first.
If you enjoyed ac6, just don’t expect anything identical. Aesthetically and mechanically, ac6 is waaay different from previous iterations. Lock-on and free turning are brand new. Movement in others ranges from running through jello to strapped face-first to a missile. I recommend emulating everything up to 3, as the original ps1/ps2 controls make me want to die.
There’s just been a stream release of a remake of one of the classic Touhou games. I bought it and it was way more arcady than i expected. I also suck at it

The day I heard about the balteus nerf I turned off updates on my steam deck.
I was a day 1 buyer and was kind of just haphazardly going through it and haven’t gotten to it yet. But I wanted to experience this.
Took some head banging into a brick wall, but after about a half hour to forty five minutes that wall crumbled. Then I updated and beat the nerf’d version with incredible ease.
This game is so easy until this point. Its like the devs wanted you to remember who made this game.

Going back to it after first playthrough made it feel like a joke after.
