Can’t they, meaning Dems, just read them on the Senate or House floor to make them part of public record with no barriers?

is something actually stopping them or are they just protecting pedophiles while doing a bit of theater about it?

while doing a bit of theater about it?

That’s what Democrats have always done-- throwing some breadcrumbs.

This isn’t to dismiss the Democrat effort to release the Epstein files by the way, but I’m saying that the Democratic party have always half assed things in general. I got downvoted for saying Dem effort to release the files is high school gossip drama and not focusing on more critical issues. Because they haven’t laid out their serious platform to address kitchen table issues that matter more to ordinary Americans.

Let’s say Trump and Republicans lose the house, senate and the executive, and then what? Are Dems going to address wealth inequality and oligarchy, the very same issues that led to fascism? It is the same story in Europe. Almost ten years ago people hailed the electoral defeat of far right movements. But fast forward now, and because mainstream parties failed to address the underlying issues that led to the rise of far right, the far right is still far from defeated and only grew stronger instead! They might even get into power in the next national European election. I don’t want to sound know it all, but most people lack optics and are short term minded. The rising far right is also something most people don’t want to think about until they gain power.

I wonder what kind of secret could be so terrifyingly destructive to the things wearing people-skin that keep voting to keep it hidden.

As though it weren’t blindingly obvious.

Of course they don’t want their leader to be exposed, then the grifting will stop and their bank accounts will only double instead of tripling.

Asked by reporters Wednesday why Democrats had not pushed for disclosure when they controlled the White House, Schumer responded, “It’s become so apparent that they’re lying about it in every different way and the demands of the American people are so great.” “The need is greater than ever now,” he added.

I’ve said for decades now, in various formats - “no Republican should be allowed into office, on any level”.

I would invariably get asked by some Confederate about how much that offends them, because argle bargle freedom and democracy, etc.

My response? What, We, The People don’t get to vote on whether they should be permitted into office? These politicians work for US, not the other way around. They are the job applicants, and WE are deciding whether they should be allowed to have the job. They would try to gaslight and pretend I was saying something else, etc.

But that’s just it: they don’t think We, The People should have a say. That’s at the very foundation of movement conservatism. They are elitists and they think special people should be ruling over us, all of them deeply radically right wing. They don’t think we should be able to gate-keep their politicians from getting into power in the first place.
