Well according to the most complimentary blurb they could find, it’s at least very imaginative… 😄
It was fun. I really enjoyed it.
My favourite polygamous aliens are the denobulans from Star Trek: Enterprise. I wanna know more about their culture. Each man has three wives and each woman has three husbands, and they’re all allowed to have sex outside their marriages too. I like to imagine most of them are bisexual too and frequently hook up with their spouses other spouses

British Sci-Fi: A normal bloke in a tracksuit is the last human in the universe and while looking for Pot Noodles visits various planets, all of which look like a quarry in Hampshire. He’s being hunted by cyborgs in black bondage gear who report to a talking budgie.

I love that you chose an American recurring character from the most popular British sci-fi of all time as your example of American sci-fi 😄

Yeah, just being a bit cheeky. Was trying to think of exceptions to the rule while playing off the premise.
The “Japanese” example is an American movie about two robots in space yearning for each other and for mankind’s return to Earth.
The “American” example is a British series with a recurring (albeit American coded) character who interacts with aliens and engages in a good bit of polyamory.
The “French” example is a Japanese series about a horny bounty hunting crew exploring a galaxy full of breasts.
And the “British” example is probably the most reaching since it’s more realistic fiction than sci-fi, but it’s a newer French movie about a nuclear attack that the US is culpable of escalating.

Did the British write Fallout?
Feargus Urquhart (leader of Black Isle Studios* who made the first two, then founder and CEO of Obsidian, who made New Vegas) is a dual citizen of Scotland and the US who was born and raised in Scotland, so that’s a strong “partly” in my book 😁
*which was in fact named after the Scottish peninsula where his family came from

Honestly, as an unfortunate American, that last one is quite fair, especially over the last ten years.
