This is gonna piss some people (men) off, I can already tell…
This is an excellent point and I think it demonstrates really well what people mean by “all men”
Even tho I love men as much as the next straight girl…bear for me, please

If you create hypotetical scenarios and arbitrarily decide how things go, with nothing to back it up, then yes.
In my anecdotal experience, yes. So now is my word against yours, both of us unable to back it up.
Men have repeatedly shown they not only won’t step in, they’ll make excuses for the men who give men a terrible reputation as a gender.
And to clarify, obviously not all men. But enough that it’s the predominant opinion of a lot of women. Pretty fucking damning if you ask me.
There were 50 men in that Cornell group chat that did nothing when their frat brothers were raping Jane Doe.
Right, but then they give an example of a time where a man DID step in. I can think of an incident where something happened in a parking lot between a man and a woman, another man stepped in to see if things were OK and was shot and later died.
Pulling up news stories is great for trying to back up your arguments but not so much in getting people to see another perspective.
Instead of this black and white “all men vs not all men” arguement, I wish people could understand that sometimes it can be incredibly difficult to do the right thing, and in the most extreme case it could cost you your life. People seem to think it’s so easy to “just do the right thing”. It’s not. It’s SIMPLE, not easy. It’s a subtle yet huge difference.
